My wife and I started running in August, there are many things I have learned since that nice SUNNY WARM day! Here are my top ten:
1. Enjoy nice sunny warm days. I shiver me timbers now when we go out for our jaunt after work.
2. Enjoy daylight. Darkness falls quickly and a deer in the headlights is a recipe for disaster if one is not careful. Now if I could run that fast all would be cool.
3. Asphalt running is so much better than concrete. Hence the darkness most of our run is now on the concrete sidewalk. You can really feel the float and relief on asphalt. Do they make shoes out of asphalt?
4. Taking more than 2 days off is not good at all, it takes the next run to get the wind back in my lungs sails.
5. More the merrier. We gained a friend in September, Lisa, who runs with us most of the time. Talk about some peer pressure, Julie and I could bag it easy some days but here comes Lisa..."ready to run". We both joyfully answer "Yes!"
6. Appearance is not everything. I have found out that when the cold weather hits, I don't care what I look like. I thought I would never run without matching, with sweat pants, stocking hat or a long sleeve shirt covering part of my mitts keeping them warm.
7. Watching what I eat and drink during the day. Not enough water or food will cause some quite uncomfortable issues. Water water water! No chips chips chips at work.
8. Go to the bathroom before you run or you will find yourself cutting your run short or ditching off into the woods. Ah, the relief.
9. Good shoes do make a difference. You need good support and make sure the socks that fit into the size 10's have only one hole, more the merrier does not apply here.
10. Measure your progress and keep pushing for more. You don't have to go out and run a 5k or marathon everyday, just 1-2 miles 3-4 times a week or as I like to refer to is as doing my 1-2-3-4's. I'm competitive so I have to measure progress to see how I am doing plus I can brag about how fast or how long, hmmmm.....that didn't sound right.
Enjoy your run, it's nice to get out and be in your own zone. Leave your phone at home, the world will survive for 30 minutes without you.

Good advice Mike! I have a book for you about shoes. Seems that the only true predictor of running related injuries is...the amount you spend on your shoes. The more you spend, the more your injuries. Crazy huh?
Isn't that crazy Julian? I had never heard that before but it wouldn't suprise me. I am using a pair of the best shoes that I have, some clearance shelp Asics Gel shoes that I picked up for $40. I must say though, if I ran further more often I would need to address the inserts, I have a flat left foot and the other arched.
he answer Sac Hermes is yes. French fashion house has confirmed the Brit model as the face of their Boy Chanel handbag collection Sac Hermes Birkin. [Karl Lagerfeld] a crush with this unique, charismatic dude, who's both one and musician, during the photo shoot several months ago, Chanel told WWD Sac Hermes Pas Cher. This previously unforeseen alliance finally became self-evident Sac Hermes Kelly. Alice Dellal represents the most perfect incarnation off which is unique in regards to the Boy Chanel handbag collection, which strives [to be] not even close conformist notions of femininity.
Yep, Dellal is anything but conventional. And even her trademark punk-rock uniform, the petite 24-year-old is actually a drummer while in the band Thrush Metal and will remain found larking for the streets based in london with Pixie Geldof. Shes far from blonde bombshell Blake Lively, whos the existing face of Chanels Mademoiselle range, but Lagerfeld is acknowledged for his eclectic taste, previously casting Lily Allen for the Cocoon bag range during the past year. Even greater, Alice's androgyny will work brilliantly with the 'Boy' collection. How refreshing.
