Cell Phones and Trains Don't Get Along

Two times in the last 15 days two people have been hit by a train as they were talking on their cell phone. On April 21 a 17 year old girl was walking along the tracks and squish! Today just 5 miles south of the last accident a 50 year old man was walking between the tracks and talking on his cell phone. The train was going 80mph and the conductor sounded the horn but the man didn't hear the train (how do they know he didn't hear the train?) and squish. I don't get it, is the conversation so interesting that you don't notice a train sneaking up behind you?

But.......come to find out, there was a train coming the other direction on the next set of tracks and with all the sound I guess it could be possible, not sure how you could hear the person on the phone your talking to but anything is possible.

Moral to the story: Use a payphone, they usually don't put them in the middle of the train tracks.

Unbelievable how incredibly stupid people are. I guess it was just their time to go. I do not understand the necessity of having a cell phone attached at your ear half of your day anyway. I saw a five year old with a cell phone the other day on her way to school. What is she talking about? A lost outfit for her Barbie doll? You have to know that people can hear the train unless they are drunk or under some kind of influence. Maybe no common sense, like driving at night without your head lights on? Oops, I must be an Obama supporter. Cats out of the bag now. Go Barack!
Have a great day all.

Maybe they just committ suicide? Imagine being the person on the other side of the cell phone :( unless they are talking to Ken or Barbie?
