Ever been perplexed about how to spell the exclamation of "YAY!"? I have always used YEAH, but started to think whether or not that was right or not (or write or knot), it does not appear that YEAH is acceptable. How about YAY? YAH? YEA? YA? What I could find is that YEA is actually correct so now I am relieved that I can save my H's and used them on something else.

OK, where are you getting this information? I so don't agree. I think it all comes down to pronunciation. I believe that YAY is one thing and YEAH is another, no? So what the heck is YEA?
Oh, and I have a couple of uses for those extra H's.

OK, to set the record straight..I do not spell it YAY....I spell it Yeah! someone in my mom's group spelled it Yay which got me to thinking about the proper spelling and started the conversation with you about that which led to this completely useless blog post!

You are correct, it started there but I do believe I have heard you say it that way. Yipee. It may come down to pronunciation as Elizabeth suggests.
