In baseball one jargon is the phrase "Can of Corn". Always wondered where the phrase came from, in baseball it is said for an easy pop fly. Simply put, you yell out to the whomever the ball is going to and say......can of corn, baby, can of corn. Isn't if funny that "pop" fly and can of "corn" are used together? Is this where "popcorn" came from?
In golf you say "fore" when your ball is flying towards someone. Of course that does not happen with me unless you are standing right in the middle of the fairway or on the green, lol. Now, I do know a few people that say the "F" word every other shot, FORE!
Anybody out there, have any other jargon's that you don't know where they came from?
